Manchester United are closing in on their third signing of the summer transfer window after they have reached an agreement on personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

The Red Devils are looking to add the Uruguayan to their squad, having already announced the signings of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, it has been noted that contract terms have been negotiated and finalized between the Premier League club and the 23-year-old midfielder with Ugarte expressing a strong desire to join Old Trafford.

However, a deal is not yet done as there is no agreement between Manchester United and PSG yet, but negotiations are ongoing.

Other clubs are also keen on the defensive midfielder, although clearly, the Red Devils are in a strong position to make the signing.

Ugarte, who moved to PSG from Sporting CP last summer for £51m, played 37 matches across all competitions for the French last season but did not find the back of the net.

Despite that fee only being spent 12 months ago, when the Uruguayan signed a five-year deal, the Guardian reports that PSG may be willing to sell him this summer for just €45m (£38m).

18-year-old center-back Yoro was unveiled as Manchester United’s second summer signing on Thursday evening in a £52m move from Lille.

This followed Zirkzee arriving from Bologna on Sunday in a £36.5m move, after an impressive season in Serie A last time round for the Dutch striker.
