New Venue For Nigeria Vs Argentina Friendly Match Confirmed
The Super Eagles of Nigeria and Albiceleste of Argentina will now clash in an international friendly match in the United States of America.
The specific date for this encounter is yet to be disclosed, though it is certain the match will take place in March.
Initially, the game was supposed to be held in China, but due to a dispute between Lionel Messi, the Argentine superstar, and Chinese soccer authorities, it was called off, SportXparte recalls.
Messi’s refusal to participate in a friendly match between his club, Inter Miami, and Hong Kong X1, caused tension with the Chinese.
This decision was influenced by Messi’s struggle with a groin injury during that period. Additionally, Argentina is set to play another friendly against El Salvador in March.
The Super Eagles are set to utilize the friendly match as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.
