Proud Father Patrick Kluivert Celebrates Rare Hat-trick As Sons Score On Consecutive Days
Patrick Kluivert’s sons displayed that goal-scoring talent runs in the family, each finding the net on three consecutive days for three different clubs.
The remarkable feat highlighted the continuation of the Dutch great’s attacking legacy. Kluivert himself scored nearly 250 goals during a prolific career with the Netherlands, Barcelona, AC Milan, and Ajax Amsterdam.
The scoring streak began on Wednesday in the UEFA Youth League, where 18-year-old Shane Kluivert curled in a superb strike to inspire Barcelona’s 2-1 comeback win over Paris Saint-Germain.
The next day, his older brother Ruben, a 24-year-old defender, found the net with a header in Lyon’s 2-0 Europa League victory over Red Bull Salzburg.
Their goals marked back-to-back contributions from the Kluivert family across European competitions.
Bournemouth’s 26-year-old winger Justin Kluivert completed the unique treble, netting a stunning long-range strike in Friday’s 3-1 Premier League victory over Fulham.
“Proud dad,” Patrick, who is now head coach of the Indonesia national team, wrote on Instagram after each of his sons’ teams won their matches.
