Inter Milan was held to a 2-2 draw by Cagliari at the San Siro, but their 14-point lead at the top of the Serie A standings remains intact with just six matches left to play. The Nerazzurri were looking to extend their lead over rivals AC Milan, who had dropped points earlier in the day, but were unable to secure the victory against a resilient Cagliari side.

The match started with Inter putting pressure on Cagliari from the start, with Nicolò Barella coming close to scoring a spectacular goal early on, only to be denied by a great save from Cagliari goalkeeper Simone Scuffet. However, Inter eventually broke the deadlock in the 12th minute through Marcus Thuram after a well-worked move involving Matteo Darmian and Alexis Sánchez.

Cagliari forced to defend for much of the first half, were dangerous on the counterattack but lacked the finishing touch in front of goal. Despite Barella finding the net with a header, the goal was ruled out for offside, keeping Cagliari in the game. The second half saw Scuffet making crucial saves to deny Inter, including a stunning free-kick from Hakan Çalhanoğlu.

Cagliari, however, managed to equalize through Eldor Shomurodov, who powered his strike past Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Inter regained the lead through a well-placed penalty from Çalhanoğlu after a handball by Yerry Mina, but Cagliari fought back once again with Nicolas Viola scoring their second equalizer late in the game.

Despite the draw, Inter still has a comfortable lead at the top of the table and has the opportunity to secure the title in the upcoming Milan Derby against AC Milan. Cagliari, on the other hand, continues their solid form with just one loss in their last eight matches, maintaining a safe distance from the relegation zone.
