Barcelona, Sevilla, and Juventus are interested in signing Wilfred Ndidi after seeing him in the past.

SportsXparte understands that Wilfred Ndidi’s surprise absence from the Nigeria Super Eagles AFCON squad has raised questions beyond just potential injuries.

Prior to the Africa Cup of Nations campaign, the defensive midfielder was left out of the Super Eagles roster and was replaced by Alhassan Yususf, a star for Royale Antwerp. As various activities begin in the January transfer window, Ndidi’s name stands out as one of the highly sought-after players that many elite European teams are hoping to acquire in the near future.

Several respectable teams, like FC Barcelona, Sevilla, and even Juventus, have shown a strong interest in signing Ndidi during the hectic transfer negotiations. There is an immediate and available need for an addition to their roster because of the necessity of reinforcements, especially given these teams’ current injury issues.

Purchasing a player who could only be able to make the squad by the end of February may not meet the urgent needs of clubs in such a situation. The idea that Ndidi’s decision may have been purposeful is further fueled by the fact that his withdrawal occurred at the same time as the abrupt increase in transfer rumours.

It gives him plenty of time to negotiate the transfer market and possibly make his ideal transfer to a famous club a reality.
Strangely, Ndidi’s injury story didn’t come to light until Leicester’s coach, Enzo Maresca, abruptly pronounced him unfit, sparking rumours about the precise type and timing of the ailment.

The interplay between players’ national team commitments, transfer goals, and transfer window dynamics is called into question in this scenario.

However, the degree of the Nigerian international’s injury and his recovery plans have not yet been confirmed by physical means. However, as his contract with Leicester City draws to a conclusion, Ndidi may still be available for a significant transfer despite being left off the roster.

Ndidi’s withdrawal from the AFCON team will have a significant effect on the Super Eagles as the transfer crisis unfolds and rumours continue.
