Tottenham Announces The Signing Of Wilson Odobert From Burnley

Tottenham have announced the signing of Burnley attacker Wilson Odobert on a five-year deal.

The French teenager featured and scored in the Clarets’ first Championship match of the season, a 4-1 victory over Luton.

However, he will now be moving to north London.

Le Parisien claims the deal is worth as much as €37m, coming not long after Tottenham splashed out their record fee to bring in striker Dominic Solanke.

Spurs have announced that the 19-year-old, who joins summer signs such as Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, and Dominic Solanke during the transfer window, will wear the number 28 shirt.

Wilson Odobert Career Journey

After coming through Paris Saint-Germain’s academy, Odobert joined Troyes in 2022 and scored four goals in 32 Ligue 1 appearances before joining Vincent Kompany’s Burnley a year later.

He became the club’s youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer when he struck in a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in October. He made 29 top-flight appearances for Burnley and scored three goals before the club was relegated.

He has also played for a number of France’s youth sides and was part of Thierry Henry’s preliminary Olympic squad before being cut from the final roster, having scored in a 3-2 friendly victory over the Ivory Coast.

Les Blues claimed a silver medal in Paris after a 5-3 extra-time defeat to Spain in the final.

Tottenham has been searching for a new winger this summer and has been connected to several candidates, including Pedro Neto, Eberechi Eze, and Desire Doue, among others.

The club has confirmed that the deal remains ‘subject to formalities,’ meaning Odobert may not be available when Lilywhites kick off their Premier campaign on Monday night Leicester City.
