Tottenham Legend Son Heung-min Signs For LAFC In Historic MLS Record Deal

‎South Korean forward, Son Heung-min, has transferred from Tottenham Hotspur to Los Angeles FC, marking the end of his ten-year tenure at the North London club.

‎The 33-year-old is reportedly set to make a Major League Soccer record transfer, with a fee of $26 million (approximately £18.7 million), according to ESPN and The Athletic.

‎”I’m incredibly proud to be joining LAFC, a club with big ambitions in one of the most iconic sports cities in the world,” he said.

‎”Los Angeles has such a rich history of champions, and I am here to help write the next chapter. I’m excited for this new challenge in MLS. I have come to LA to lift trophies and give everything for this club, this city, and its fans.”

‎Son Heung-min will reunite with former teammate Hugo Lloris at the club. Los Angeles FC is currently sixth in the Western Conference after playing 22 matches.

‎They are 10 points behind the leaders, San Diego, but have three games in hand.

A legend and more

‎Son Heung-min departs England as one of Tottenham’s greatest players, with 10 years, 454 appearances, and 173 goals for the club.

‎He reached a memorable peak by captaining Tottenham to Europa League success last season, ending a 17-year trophy drought.

‎His contributions have left a lasting legacy at the club.
