Transfer: Maresca Drops Chelsea Defender For Pre-season Tour

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, has decided to exclude Trevoh Chalobah from his team for the upcoming US pre-season tour.

Maresca has indicated that Chalobah is no longer required at Stamford Bridge.

Despite participating in the pre-season training at Cobham this month, Chalobah is now anticipated to pursue a permanent transfer this summer.

Maresca views Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, and the recently acquired Tosin Adarabioyo as offering quality and depth to the squad as right-sided centre-backs.

He intends to utilize the pre-season period to further evaluate highly-rated Cobham prospect Josh Acheampong as a potential right-back replacement for both the club captain Reece James and Malo Gusto.

Chalobah had previously rejected a £25 million transfer offer from Nottingham Forest on the last day of the summer transfer window in the previous year.
