Super Eagles star forward, Victor Osimhen is departing Napoli at the end of the season, its official.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis officially announced on Friday that the Nigerian professional footballer playing for the Serie A side, Victor Osimhen, will be departing at the conclusion of the season.

It has been widely anticipated that Osimhen would be transferred during the summer, especially after he recently signed a new contract that included a release clause valued at over £100m to facilitate his future move.

Adding fuel to the speculation, the 25-year-old confirmed earlier this week that he has already made a decision regarding his next destination.

Although he did not disclose any details at the time, De Laurentiis has now disclosed that Osimhen is indeed on his way out of the club.

“We’ve known it since last summer; otherwise, the negotiation to extend would not have been so long,” De Laurentiis informed the press on Friday and subsequently disclosed three potential locations for the Nigerian player.

“We already knew he would join Real Madrid, PSG or a Premier League club.”

SportXparte understands that Premier League side Chelsea have identified Osimhen as their primary target, as the Blues have been in search of a top-notch goalscorer for quite some time.

The club has been actively pursuing Osimhen and is expected to intensify its efforts during the summer transfer window, as it anticipates having the necessary funds to make a significant investment.

It is believed that Osimhen’s release clause exceeds £100m, which will restrict the number of potential suitors.

While Arsenal may have substantial funds to acquire a striker, Manchester United is more likely to seek a more affordable option to provide support for Rasmus Hojlund, who will continue to be their main striker.
