Renowned football transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, has shared that Nigerian professional footballer, Victor Osimhen, has confirmed his move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
According to Romano, PSG are in talks to sign Osimhen from Napoli and Benfica’s João Neves for the upcoming week.
He shared this information on his official X handle on Sunday, July 21.
“Paris Saint-Germain are planning to advance for both João Neves and Victor Osimhen from next week.
“Benfica understands João’s desire to join PSG, talks are advancing between the clubs to get it done.
“Osimhen said yes to PSG, deal with Napoli not close yet but talks on,” Romano wrote on X.
Osimhen’s Rant Was Quite Unfortunate – Says Pinnick
Meanwhile, former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick, has expressed his view on the recent incident involving Victor Osimhen‘s public reprimand of former Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, describing it as regrettable.
Sportxparte reports that some weeks ago, Osimhen issued a public statement criticizing Finidi for allegedly doubting his commitment to the Super Eagles following his decision to withdraw from the team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
The Super Eagles were unable to secure a victory, drawing 1-1 against Bafana Bafana of South Africa and losing 2-1 to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.
These underwhelming results placed the team at risk of failing to qualify for the World Cup for the second consecutive year.
Pinnick has disclosed that he had a conversation with Osimhen following the incident, during which he conveyed his disappointment in the footballer’s behaviour.
“Let me dwell on Osimhen’s case. It was quite unfortunate. That ranting was so unfortunate. I put a call through to Osimhen, and I made him understand that I didn’t like what he did, and he spoke to me with remorse. And I told him to channel his remorse to the appropriate quarters,” Pinnick said on Arise TV.
“Osimhen has always come to me, we discovered Osimhen. It was during my first tenure. In fact, that was the first trophy I won as the president of NFF when he led us to Chile, and he was the highest goal scorer.
“I don’t know what went wrong. It was just a moment of madness, so to speak. But, that is not the Osimhen that I know. Osimhen comes to me as a very humble boy, I don’t know others, and we have maintained that relationship.”
