We Just Want The Season To Be Over – Says Thomas Muller
Bayern Munich veteran, Thomas Muller, said “We just want the season to be over” after his team finished in third place, which was their lowest position in 13 years, they suffered a 4-2 defeat against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
While Xabi Alonso’s undefeated Bayer Leverkusen secured their first league title and were aiming for a potential treble, Muller ended the season without any trophies for the first time since 2011-12.
“We are very unhappy. We just want this season to be over and to start again in the summer,” Muller told Sky after Bayern’s eighth loss of the season. “It’s out of the ordinary for us to lose so many games. We’ll try and put it behind us now.”
Bayern, missing the injured Harry Kane who departed Germany for back treatment before England’s Euro 2024 campaign, took a 2-0 lead within six minutes with goals from Mathys Tel and Alphonso Davies.
Hoffenheim quickly responded as Maximilian Beier found the net two minutes later. In the second half, Bayern were blown off the park as Andrej Kramaric scored a hat-trick to seize control of the game.
Thomas Muller praised the departing coach Thomas Tuchel, who announced on Friday that he would be leaving at the end of the season, saying the manager “had to clean up some mess that he did not produce under not very easy circumstances.”
Tuchel himself said he “had an explanation” for Bayern’s troubles, but said “it’s not to share with the public.”
