‎Arsenal have officially secured the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

‎The England international joins the Gunners for an initial £60 million ($81.2m), with a further £7.5m ($10.1m) payable in potential add-ons.

‎He joins on a four-year contract with the option of a further year and will wear the No. 10 shirt for the north London club.

‎The 27-year-old had appeared close to a move to Tottenham Hotspur with negotiations even reaching the point of talks between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Crystal Palace counterpart Steve Parish.

‎Arsenal accelerated their pursuit of Eberechi Eze after Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury, as reported by Sportxparte on Wednesday.

‎The club acted swiftly on its long-standing interest to finalise the transfer.

‎Eze was absent from Palace’s Conference League play-off against Fredrikstad after telling head coach Oliver Glasner he did not “feel well to play.”

‎Arsenal have enjoyed a busy first summer under new sporting director Andrea Berta since he arrived from Atletico Madrid.

‎Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, defender Cristhian Mosquera, midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, winger Noni Madueke, and striker Viktor Gyokeres have all moved to north London.

‎Eze joined Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2020 for around £17 million.

‎He has since made 169 appearances for Palace, scoring 40 goals, and has been capped 12 times by England, scoring once.
