Arsenal Cruised Past Bournemouth To Go Four Points Clear
Arsenal displayed their title credentials by securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.
The match began with Arsenal on the front foot, as they attacked the Bournemouth goal with shots in the first half. Despite some resolute defending from the Cherries, Kai Havertz and William Saliba came close to breaking the deadlock early on, testing Bournemouth’s goalkeeper, Mark Travers.
It was Bukayo Saka who eventually made the breakthrough for Arsenal, calmly converting a penalty just before half-time after Havertz was fouled in the box. This goal marked Saka’s 16th league goal of the season, highlighting his importance to Mikel Arteta’s side.
The Gunners continued to press in the second half, with Saka and Havertz both going close to extending the lead. Bournemouth briefly threatened with a shot on target from Dominic Solanke and an effort from Justin Kluivert, but Arsenal remained resolute at the back.
Arsenal’s persistence paid off as Declan Rice set up Leandro Trossard for their second goal, putting the game beyond Bournemouth’s reach. Despite a disallowed goal for the Cherries and a stunning strike from Gabriel that was ruled out for offside, Rice sealed the victory with a precise finish in injury time.
The win extended Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table by four points and put the pressure back on Manchester City and Andoni Iraola’s team stayed in 10th.
