Mikel Arteta is confident that Arsenal are ready to overturn their troubled history in the Champions League against Bayern Munich as the Gunners aim for a remarkable double. Ahead of the Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash against Bayern on Tuesday, Arteta’s team is eager to carry the momentum from their strong performance in the Premier League onto the European stage. Leading the title race with seven games remaining, Arsenal currently holds the top spot in the table, narrowly edging out Liverpool on goal difference & Manchester City by’ a single point.

Arteta’s focus will soon shift to the Champions League as Arsenal look to overcome their historical struggles against Bayern Munich, having suffered 5-1 defeats in their last three encounters. Despite previous eliminations in 2017, 2014, 2013, and 2005, Arteta, who was a player during the 2013 and 2014 losses, is determined to change their fortunes.

Arsenal’s strong domestic performances hint at a potential turnaround. Bayern, currently facing a 16-point deficit behind Bayer Leverkusen, is experiencing internal challenges following a recent loss to Heidenheim. Even with Harry Kane, who has a prolific record against Arsenal from his time at Tottenham, in Bayern’s ranks, the Gunners remain unfazed.

“We are in a great moment. The team is healthy, full of energy, and brimming with both individual and collective confidence,” Arteta commented following the victory over Brighton on Saturday.

“They are performing well and we are winning a lot of matches. We just have to carry on doing what we’re doing.”

Mikel Arteta when asked about Kai Havertz “He’s certainly having a huge impact on the team. His overall performances have been really good and now his numbers in terms of goal contributions are high,” Arteta said.
