Barcelona Eyes Ansu Fati Exit Ahead Of Potential Marcus Rashford Bid
Dutch powerhouse Ajax is considering a loan acquisition of Barcelona winger, Ansu Fati, according to reports.
The Spanish club is aiming to finalize this deal to help finance their interest in Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Barcelona is Rashford’s preferred destination, but Hansi Flick’s side simply does not have the salary space needed to sign the Englishman even if he agrees to take a cut on his wages, which are worth in excess of £325,000 per week.
Fati desires to remain in Barcelona but finds himself on the outskirts of Flick’s squad. The Catalan club aims to eliminate the winger’s £200,000-per-week salary from their financial books before the transfer deadline, as this would greatly enhance their chances of securing Rashford’s signature.
De Telegraaf states Fati is under consideration by Ajax, who are looking at a number of potential winger options.
Barcelona are open to offers for Fati, even if a loan move would see them continue to contribute to the 22-year-old’s salary.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph states Barcelona and United have held “tentative” negotiations over Rashford, with the Red Devils still skeptical of Barcelona’s ability to afford such a deal. Reports have suggested the Spanish side have already struck an agreement over personal terms with Rashford.
Rashford and his representatives view Barcelona as the sole feasible option at this point in the transfer window. They are concerned that a breakdown in negotiations might leave him on the outskirts of Ruben Amorim’s squad.
