Barcelona Finally Registers Dani Olmo Ahead Of Rayo Vallencano Match
FC Barcelona faced significant challenges this summer, particularly regarding the integration of new signings.
While the club had its sights set on multiple potential acquisitions, it also had to navigate a host of other issues.
In the end, the summer may not have been particularly eventful for Barcelona, but it has undoubtedly been a source of frustration.
The one major signing that Barcelona was ultimately able to get over the line was that of Dani Olmo. Purchased from RB Leipzig for a rather sizeable amount considering Barça’s finances, there was at least hope regarding one new arrival within the Catalan club.
Regrettably, initial concerns regarding the club’s capacity to integrate and register new players proved to be true. Dani Olmo was unable to be registered for the first two matches of La Liga, leading to frustration for both the player and the fans witnessing this situation.
Things became increasingly concerning when reports emerged indicating that Dani Olmo might not be registered in time for a potential third match.
Fortunately, according to Mundo Deportivo, it appears that the player will finally be registered before the upcoming game against Rayo Vallecano.
This new update comes off the back of Barcelona making some crucial changes thanks to Andreas Christensen’s untimely injury.
With the Danish defender now sidelined for some time, La Blaugrana has decided to use the salary space being left vacant by temporarily removing his registration to register Olmo instead.
This development will allow Barcelona and Hansi Flick to finally utilize Dani Olmo while Christensen continues his recovery. Additionally, since the Dane isn’t currently a key starter for Flick, Barcelona may feel that his absence won’t be significantly impactful.
As for Olmo, there has been much excitement about the return of the former La Masia player. With a lot of versatility to offer alongside great technical ability, Hansi Flick and Barcelona may end up finding great use of the 26-year-old Spanish forward in the games to come.
