Former England Player Taken Into Custody Following Attempted Rape Claims
A former England and Premier League footballer, active in the 2010s, has been detained at Stansted Airport on suspicion of attempted rape.
The individual, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was stopped by Border Force officers at passport control on Sunday before boarding a flight, according to reports from The Sun.
Essex Police stated, “A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and has been bailed to a date in late February 2026 while we continue our enquiries.”
