Gabriel Magalhaes Sparks Arsenal Concern After Limping Out Of Brazil Friendly

‎Arsenal suffered a concerning injury blow after key defender Gabriel Magalhaes limped off during Brazil’s 2-0 friendly win over Senegal at the Emirates Stadium.

‎The centre-back went down just after the hour mark and remained on the turf as he received treatment on his right leg. He was eventually helped off, appearing to clutch his right groin in discomfort.

‎A physio then signalled to manager Carlo Ancelotti that Gabriel could not continue, prompting an immediate substitution.

‎”I don’t know [if Gabriel has an injury], Ancelotti said post-match.

‎”I think he felt something in his adductor. He’ll be examined tomorrow. We’re very sad that he felt that. I wish he gets better soon”

‎Gabriel has been outstanding this season and is crucial to Arsenal’s solid defensive record, having conceded just five goals in their first 11 Premier League games. The 27-year-old has also been a major aerial threat on set-pieces, contributing two goals and two assists.

‎Mikel Arteta will be hoping Gabriel’s setback proves to be only a minor issue. Arsenal face a demanding run of fixtures after the international break, including clashes with Tottenham, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea.

‎The squad is already stretched by several injuries, most of which affect the attacking department.

‎Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Martin Ødegaard, and Gabriel Jesus all missed the recent 2-2 draw against Sunderland.
