Inter Miami: Messi Urges Beckham To Sign Ex-Barcelona Stars Including Roberto, Luis Suarez
Lionel Messi is determined to turn Inter Miami into his dream team with the help of former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
Reports had it that Luis Suarez may also join as the 2023 Ballon d’Or winner is pushing for the addition of a fifth ex-Barça player.
According to El Gol Digital, Messi has personally asked David Beckham to assist in bringing Ivan Rakitic to the team. Interestingly, it seems Inter Miami may not have to pay for Rakitic, as he is reportedly not renewing his contract with Sevilla. The club is said to be negotiating an 85% reduction in his current salary.
During their time in Barcelona, their relationship flourished and is widely recognized. However, there have been speculations about potential tensions arising from the pressures they face while representing their respective national teams. In an interview with El Desmarque, he shed light on the intricacies of their bond, stating, “Messi and Suarez have been my teammates for six years, and they hold significant importance in my life. While they may not be my closest friends, I have immense respect for them.”
Their partnership at Barcelona was incredibly successful, with numerous titles won under the guidance of Luis Enrique. Fans hold fond memories of their seamless combinations, particularly during the 2015 Champions League victory, which coincided with a treble-winning season that included triumphs in La Liga and Copa del Rey.
