Joshua Kimmich Signs New Contract Extension With Bayern Munich
After months of intense negotiations, Joshua Kimmich is set to extend his contract with Bayern Munich.
According to a report from BILD, the talented midfielder will sign a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.
On Thursday, the 30-year-old was seen arriving at Bayern’s Säbener Straße headquarters alongside his family and advisor, Thomas Beheshti, ahead of the team’s training session at 1:30 PM local time.
AFP reported yesterday that Kimmich would extend his contract “in the next few days” while BILD also reported last week that a decision on Kimmich’s future would be made with the supervisory board set to vote on the matter.
Following interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, an official announcement regarding Joshua Kimmich’s contract extension is anticipated later today, March 13.
At one point, it seemed unlikely that an agreement would be reached between Joshua Kimmich and Bayern Munich.
Last month, Bayern withdrew their contract offer, as club officials were frustrated by Kimmich’s reluctance to extend his stay.
They expressed confusion over why he had not yet committed, especially given his hesitance to revisit discussions on the finer details of the contract.
Fast forward two weeks and those problems appear to have been ironed out.
Kimmich is one of the club’s most decorated players, already spending 10 years at the Rekordmeister, winning eight Bundesliga titles, three DFB Pokals, the Champions League, and a Super Cup.
