Juventus have officially announced the signing of Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta, who becomes the most expensive signing in Serie A this summer.

Juventus has reached an agreement with La Dea to secure the much-coveted Dutch player’s signature for a total package exceeding €60 million.

The deal includes a guaranteed payment of €51.3 million, to be paid in four installments, along with additional costs amounting to approximately €3.4 million.

Furthermore, there are performance-related bonuses of up to €6 million, bringing the overall total to €60.7 million.

Koopmeiners has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2029.

He becomes Juve’s eighth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Francisco Conceicao on loan from Porto, Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, Pierre Kalulu from Milan, Khephren Thuram from Nice, Juan Cabal from Verona, Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and Michele Di Gregorio from Monza.

“Now Koopmeiners is ready for this exciting new adventure in black and white. Welcome to Juventus, Teun,” the club wrote in an official statement.

Over the past few seasons, Koopmeiners emerged as one of the most thrilling players in the league. During his three years with Atalanta, he scored 26 goals in 97 Serie A appearances while playing in an attacking midfield position.

He also scored on 43 occasions from 154 appearances in all competitions during his time with AZ Alkmaar.

Koopmeiners was instrumental in Atalanta’s successful Europa League campaign last season, participating in every match except for the final group-stage game, which the team had already qualified for ahead of the knockout stage.

His transfer to Juventus also makes Koopmeiners the most expensive player in Serie A this summer, in terms of both incoming and departing players.

Before this, Juventus’s signing of Douglas Luiz for an official fee of €50 million had set the record for the expensive arrival.

Meanwhile, Riccardo Calafiori held the title for the most expensive Serie A sale this summer, departing Bologna to join Arsenal for just under €50 million (£42 million).
