Man United Moves To Sign Bayern Munich Star
Manchester United’s pursuit of Noussair Mazraoui has been reignited following his transfer to West Ham, which reportedly fell through due to unresolved personal terms.
The 26-year-old Moroccan international full-back was poised to join the Hammers from Bayern Munich after a deal worth £16.4 million was finalized.
However, negotiations on personal terms hit a snag, leading West Ham to terminate discussions and potentially paving the way for Erik ten Hag’s team.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is in advanced talks with West Ham over the transfer.
In a publication on Friday, journalist Florian Plettenberg wrote: “Noussair #Mazraoui deal with West Ham is OFF!
“No agreement on the agent’s side has been reached. Despite the agreement between the clubs (15,5 + 4) and the player’s side, West Ham has left the negotiations.
“Manchester United is now pushing to sign Mazraoui. Advanced talks.“
Big Disappointment For West Ham New Manager
The news will disappoint new West Ham manager, Julen Lopetegui, who aims to strengthen his squad after making three summer signings.
Goalkeeper Wes Foderingham joined on a free transfer from Sheffield United, while midfielder Luis Guilherme arrived in a £25m deal from Palmeiras.
Defender Max Kilman also moved from Wolves in a £40m transfer earlier this month.
Ten Hag has been active in the transfer market, recently signing Leny Yoro, who was impressing after his £52million move from Lille against Glasgow Rangers.
The 18-year-old French defender was United’s second signing under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, following Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee’s arrival from Bologna for £36.5m.
The club is also eyeing another Netherlands international, PSG star Xavi Simons.
Mazraoui, who previously played under Ten Hag at Ajax, could be on his way to United.
Bayern signed Mazraoui in 2022 from Ajax on a four-year deal after his impressive performances for Morocco in the 2022 World Cup.
The United squad has arrived in America for their tour, starting with a match against Arsenal at LA’s SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
They will then face Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California, on August 1, followed by a match against Liverpool at the Williams–Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina, to conclude the USA tour.
