The Catalans have kept an option to buy him back.

FC Barcelona and Stade Rennais have finalized an agreement for the transfer of Mikayil Faye for a fee of 10.3 million euros. The Catalan club retains the option to reacquire him for 25 million euros and will 30% of any future sale involving the player.

Mika Faye’s spell at Barcelona has lasted barely a year. The defender arrived in June 2023 from NK Kustosija. Deco liked his powerful physique and good ball control, and that is what he has shown throughout this year with the Barcelona academy.

Hansi Flick relied on Mika Faye during this pre-season and was affected by injuries. At the start of the transfer window, there was significant interest from Porto, but that deal did not come to fruition.

However, about two weeks ago, Rennes entered the picture, and after several days of negotiations, they successfully finalized the transfer of the defender.

With this move, the Catalan giants hope to be squaring accounts for La Liga to give final approval to the registration of Dani Olmo. In addition, Vitor Roque is already in Seville to complete his loan move to Real Betis and Clement Lenglet is also on the verge of leaving on loan to Atletico.
