Milan Makes Final Decision On Joao Felix And Kyle Walker’s Futures

Joao Felix and Kyle Walker both departed the Premier League on loan to join AC Milan during the winter transfer window.

However, according to a report from Italy, the Serie A club has chosen to retain only one of the two players.

Walker abruptly left the defending Premier League champions, telling Pep Guardiola about his surprise desire to move abroad after reportedly coming to the realization that “he could no longer cut it at City.”

Joao Felix’s departure from Chelsea was less surprising.

Although the Portuguese playmaker had only returned to west London last summer, he found it difficult to break into Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup.

After being turned down by Barcelona and declining offers from Inter, Felix followed in the footsteps of his idol, Kaka, and embraced the challenge of wearing the iconic black and red stripes.

The former Atletico Madrid star threatened to become the second coming of the Brazilian icon, marking his debut against Roma with a delicious scooped finish. It didn’t last long.

Felix hasn’t scored for Milan over the subsequent six weeks, and Milan has decided against making his loan deal permanent, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

In addition to his declining form, AC Milan has been discouraged by reports that Chelsea is asking for over €40 million (£33.7 million) for Felix.

In contrast, Walker is expected to remain in Milan, according to the same report. The Italian club has already agreed to pay Manchester City €5 million (£4.2 million) to secure Walker’s permanent transfer.

The England international will turn 35 in May but has quickly become a regular in the starting lineup.

The only matches Walker has failed to start since joining midway through the season were due to a hamstring injury.

During the three games he was sidelined, Milan lost all of them.
