Mohamed Salah indicated his intention to remain at Liverpool in the wake of manager Jurgen Klopp’s exit, the Egyptian forward revealed on Monday evening.

Following Juergen Klopp’s departure after a tenure of almost nine years and the official announcement of Feyenoord coach, Arne Slot, as his replacement, concerns had mounted over Mohamed Salah’s continuity at Liverpool, especially with his contract set to end in June 2025.

During the offseason, there were rumors linking the 31-year-old to a potential move to the Saudi Arabian league. Liverpool’s leading goal scorer this season seemed to struggle with form, particularly towards the end of the campaign, coinciding with their faltering title challenge.

However, in a late announcement on Monday following Slot’s appointment as Liverpool’s new coach, Salah expressed the team’s aspirations for the upcoming season and bid a farewell message to Klopp.

“We know that trophies are what counts and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season.” Salah wrote in a post on social media. “Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell. It was great sharing all those trophies and experiences with you over the past 7 years,”
