Mohamed Salah And Achraf Hakimi Headline Nominees For CAF African Player Of The Year

Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen have been shortlisted among the ten finalists for the 2025 African Player of the Year award.

‎The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the list on Wednesday, featuring some of the continent’s top-performing stars.

‎The winner will be crowned at the upcoming CAF Awards ceremony, celebrating Africa’s best in football.

‎Other nominees include Cameroon international Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Napoli), Gabon star Denis Bouanga (Los Angeles FC), Senegal’s Pape Matar Sarr (Tottenham Hotspur), and Fiston Mayele, who represents the Congolese national team and Pyramids.

‎Rounding out the list are Morocco’s Oussama Lamlioui (Renaissance Berkane) and Senegal and Everton star Iliman Ndiaye.

Reigning African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman missed out on this year’s shortlist. CAF stated that the awards will assess performances between January 6 and October 15, 2025.

‎The final nominees were selected by a panel of experts, including CAF Legends, coaches, and media representatives.
