Mohamed Salah has suggested he is in his “last year” at Liverpool in a recent interview, claiming he wants to go out on a high with the club.

In an interview with Sky Sports published on Friday, Salah expressed his desire to win the Premier League and hinted that this could be his final season with the Anfield club.

“The first thing that was on the list was to win the Premier League with Liverpool,” Salah said in the sit-down interview.

“In my interviews over the last seven or eight years, I always say Champions League. But this is the first time I’m saying I want to win the Premier League with Liverpool.”

“It’s probably because we didn’t celebrate the one we won in the way we wanted, and also, coming back here too, it’s my last year in the club, so you want to do something special for the city.”

The Egyptian has claimed nearly every major accolade available with Liverpool, including a Premier League title, a Champions League trophy, an FA Cup, two League Cups, a European Super Cup, and a Club World Cup.

The gravity of Salah’s comments was soon highlighted as the Egyptian was asked whether he truly believes this is his final year with Liverpool.

“So far, yes,” Salah said. “It’s the last six months.

“There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see.

“The thing in my head is that if this is the last six months, what do you want to see in the future? Do you want to look back and say I was concerned or stressed about the contract? Or do you just want to say I had an unbelievable season? That’s what is in my head.

“If I ever feel distracted, I just remind myself I want to look back and say I had an unbelievable season. That’s what I want to do.”

Recent reports suggest several Saudi clubs are set to offer Salah a record-breaking wage to lure the winger to the Saudi Pro League.
