Manager Jose Mourinho plans to strengthen his Roma squad as he looks to double the numbers of his former club, Chelsea.

There are reports that Mourinho is interested in signing defenders Trevor Chalobah and Malang Sarr to strengthen Roma’s defensive capabilities.

According to football sources, Mourinho has already brought in Tammy Abraham from Chelsea and Chris Smalling from Manchester United, and the deal now targets Chalobah and Sarr. The duo are now on the doorstep at Stamford Bridge under Mauricio Pochettino and look ready to make the move. Chalobah missed the entire season due to injury, while Sarr did not see any action.

With no players available to compete for the first team, interest from Roma could see them restart under Mourinho. Chelsea will likely be open to offers and could pave the way for the player to leave if Roma are at their best in 2024.
