Nigeria’s Super Falcons Maintain 36th Position In Latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have maintained their 36th position in the latest FIFA women’s ranking released this week.

According to reports, Randy Waldrum’s team has also held onto the top spot in Africa.

South Africa’s Banyana Banyana remains in second place on the continent and is ranked 51st globally.

Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses, the third-highest-ranked team in Africa, are currently in 56th place.

The world champions, La Roja of Spain, have solidified their position as the top team in the world.

Les Bleues of France have moved up to second place, while England has dropped to third.

Germany has surpassed the United States of America to claim the fourth spot.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking will be released on 16 August 2024.

In December last year, Sportxparte reported that the Nigerian female football powerhouse, the Super Falcons, clinched the esteemed title of the 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) National Team of the Year.

This accolade crowns their impressive performance at the earlier World Cup tournament, solidifying their status as a force to be reckoned with on the international stage.

Despite exiting the competition at the round of 16, facing a tough defeat against England in a penalty shootout, the Super Falcons showcased exceptional prowess throughout the tournament.

They maintained an unbeaten record in their three group stage matches, securing draws against Olympic champions Canada, co-hosts Australia, and holding the Republic of Ireland to a tie.
