Nottingham Forest has acquired Carlos Miguel, one of the world’s tallest goalkeepers, with him joining on a permanent basis.

Carlos Miguel, standing at 6 feet and 8 inches, moved from his Brazilian team, Corinthians, to the Premier League.

At the age of 25, Carlos Miguel signed a four-year contract with Nottingham Forest, committing him to the team until June 30, 2028.

Sportxparte understands that Carlos Miguel began his career in professional goalkeeping with Internacional in Brazil.

He has also played for Santa Cruz and Boa Esporte on loan. In 2021, he made the move to Corinthians, where he has appeared in 14 matches this season.

Having completed his move to the two-time European champions, Carlos Miguel said: “I’m really happy and honoured to represent this club.

“My main objective is to become an important member of this team, a giant club in the history of football. I want a place in the museum like the others.”

Carlos Miguel, who has risen to become one of the league’s highest-ever goalkeepers, mentioned that the advice he received from his ex-teammate, Murillo, played a crucial role in his decision to join Nottingham Forest.

Recall that Forest acquired Murillo, a defender from Corinthians, during the previous summer.

“I asked him about the club and also the city,” Miguel said.

“He said great things and was exuberant about this club, which made me really happy.

“It was really important, coming genuinely from a friend who moved here from Brazil, on his own for a new challenge the way he did.

“He only had good things to say, I trust him and believe this is the place for me.”
