Ousmane Dembélé Linked With Saudi Pro League Move Amid Contract Standoff At Psg
Paris Saint-Germain forward, Ousmane Dembélé has attracted strong interest from the Saudi Pro League amid talk of a potential move.
The French winger is seeking a new contract that reflects his elevated status as one of the world’s top players following his Ballon d’Or win last year.
Dembélé isn’t rushing to agree to fresh terms and would consider a transfer if a compelling offer arrives.
Could Dembele make the move?
Players like Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves, Neymar, and Sadio Mane have all moved to the Saudi Pro League and found success. Dembele could be the next name to join them, as hinted by Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol.
”If this happens, it would be the biggest deal for Saudi Arabia since they signed Cristiano Ronaldo. The Saudi Pro League clubs are anticipating a big summer transfer window and one of the players they are looking to sign is Ousmane Dembele.
”Could it happen? I think it’s a long shot but the landscape of football in Saudi Arabia is changing. For a long time, the clubs were effectively bankrolled and controlled by the state.
”Then we had the situation where some of the biggest clubs were owned by the Sovereign Wealth Fund. Now we’re in the situation where clubs are opening up and attracting private investment.
”So it’s not just the case of Saudi state money being invested in these clubs and big-name transfers, it’s also private investors who will be using their own money to try and sign players. They may well try and sign him, but whether he would want to go to Saudi Arabia when he’s at the peak of his powers remains to be seen.”
After guiding PSG to an unprecedented six trophies in 2025 and producing 35 goals with 14 assists, Dembélé is now viewed as one of the world’s elite players. His arrival would significantly elevate the league’s profile.
He could join Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, also considering a late-career move, as both stars pave the way for the next wave of big-name signings.
