Last week, Manny Pacquiao made a low-key announcement while attending the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou event, indicating his intention to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the coming month, assuming all goes according to plan. It’s important to note that this potential rematch is slated to be an exhibition match, but it has not been confirmed officially yet.

Pacquiao, who is currently 44 years old, shared with Fight Hub TV that he is actively training and enthusiastic about stepping back into the boxing ring. The bout against Mayweather is proposed to take place in Japan, under the Japanese fight promotion RIZIN.

“I’m still active, I’m an active guy, I’m actively training. I have an exhibition match this coming December in Japan,” Pacquiao shared. “We’re working on it, the opponent. We’re working with Mayweather. Yes [a Mayweather fight].”

In the event that Mayweather declines to face Pacquiao, who is contemplating coming out of retirement with the aim of tarnishing Money’s undefeated status, the Filipino boxer may consider an alternative opponent, Sportxparte reports.

Pacquiao is also actively pursuing the opportunity to represent The Philippines in the 2024 Olympics, provided that the committee lifts the age restriction.

Additionally, he has issued a challenge to Gervonta Davis.. Pacquiao would fight “Tank” if it happens at welterweight.

“Davis is a good fighter, a good fighter,” Pacquiao said. “If he wants [to] and comes up to 147, then we can fight. 145, maybe. It’s not a problem for me, I’m an experienced fighter.”
