Parma Confirms Cristian Chivu’s Departure Ahead Of Inter Milan Appointment
Cristian Chivu is close to being announced as the new head coach of Inter after ending his contract with Parma and bidding farewell to the Crociati supporters in a social media video on Monday morning.
Chivu is expected to be announced as the new Inter head coach following the departure of Simone Inzaghi for Al-Hilal last week.
The 44-year-old former Nerazzurri defender has reportedly already concluded his contract with Parma, according to TMW.
He has also posted a farewell message to the Parma supporters ahead of his upcoming announcement as Inter’s new head coach.
Chivu announces Parma departure
“I want to thank the club, staff, players, and fans for believing in me and our project,” Chivu wrote in a message on Instagram on Monday.
“We overcame obstacles together and wrote a page that I will always carry close to my heart. Thank you, Parma!”
Chivu was appointed Parma’s head coach in February and played a key role in securing the team’s Serie A safety in the final week of the 2024-25 season.
He is anticipated to be officially announced as the new head coach soon and is expected to agree to a two-year contract at San Siro.
Parma have since officially confirmed the coach’s departure as head coach in a message on social media that read, “The club bids farewell to Cristian Chivu, thanking him for his dedication and for leading the team to safety.
”His contribution during a challenging period of the season was significant.
“We wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career.”
