Premier League Clubs Ranked By Trophy Drought – Last Major Title Won?
Sunday, March 16, 2025, will forever be etched in the hearts of Newcastle United fans.
The Magpies triumphed over Liverpool, clinching a 2-1 victory in the Carabao Cup Final and ending a remarkable 70-year drought for a major trophy.
Although they lifted the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in the 1968-69 season, many fans have long considered that less significant in the context of major honors.
Regardless, it’s still a 56-year gap since they last celebrated such a significant achievement.
Dan Burn and Alexander Isak were the goalscoring heroes, netting in either half to guarantee they’ll never pay for another drink in the city of Newcastle.
No matter how you slice it, Newcastle’s long wait has now come to an end.
However, there are several prominent clubs still experiencing significant trophy droughts. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a ranking of every current Premier League club based on the length of their major trophy drought.
To clarify, a major trophy includes the top-flight league title, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Europa Conference League.
