Napoli’s top striker, Victor Osimhen, is being touted as a strong contender to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe at PSG.

Mbappe is set to depart the French champions at the end of the season, with rumours of a potential move to Real Madrid swirling for years.

Despite ongoing negotiations between Mbappe and Los Blancos, PSG is already planning for the future, SportXparte understands.

According to The Athletic, Osimhen, the talented forward for Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Napoli, is among the top choices to take over at the Parc des Princes.

Despite recently signing a contract extension until 2026, Osimhen remains a sought-after player in the transfer market, having showcased his skills while helping the Nigerian national team reach the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Osimhen, aged 25, is said to have a release clause worth £112 million in his recently signed contract. PSG would be willing to activate this clause if Mbappe’s hefty salary does not put a strain on their financial resources.

Over the past few years, the Napoli striker has emerged as one of the most formidable strikers in Europe.

He continued his impressive form from last season, where he scored 26 goals in 32 Serie A matches, by netting seven goals in 13 appearances this season.
