‎Real Madrid has released an update on defender Antonio Rüdiger, who will be sidelined for the next three months due to a hamstring injury sustained during training.

‎Following today’s medical assessments conducted by Real Madrid’s Medical Services, Rüdiger has been diagnosed with an injury to the anterior tibialis muscle of his left leg. Further developments will be communicated as they occur.

‎“Following tests carried out today on our player Toni Rudiger by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the rectus femoris muscle of his left leg. Pending evolution,” the statement read.

‎This represents a significant setback for Real Madrid, as Rüdiger was expected to be a key pillar of the defense.

‎Consequently, Militao and Huijsen will now form the two undisputed starters in the back line, with the Brazilian center-back only recently returning from a serious ACL injury.

‎Rüdiger’s body appears to have entered its decline, and he’s set to become a free agent next summer. Rumors indicate that Real Madrid will not offer him an extension.

‎This follows the decision to omit the German international from the squad that will face Real Sociedad tomorrow.
