Sean Dyche Set For Forest Hot Seat After Postecoglou’s Short Reign

‎Nottingham Forest is set to appoint Sean Dyche as their third head coach of the season.

‎The former Everton coach is expected to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed after just 40 days in charge. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis had initially hoped to bring back Marco Silva, having previously worked with him at Olympiakos.

‎However, Silva’s reluctance to leave Fulham mid-season and his £13 million release clause made the deal unfeasible.

‎The former Manchester City head coach, Roberto Mancini, was also under consideration and was spoken to by Forest, but Dyche became the focus.

Sean Dyche has been unemployed since his January departure from Everton, where he spent two years. With no severance obligations to contend with, any potential deal would be easier to finalize.

‎Nottingham Forest are eager to have Dyche on the touchline for Thursday’s Europa League match against Porto.

‎The 54-year-old was a youth player at Forest but never made a first-team appearance for the club. He has lived in the area for a long period and is a regular visitor to matches.

‎Forest legends Ian Woan and Steve Stone, who worked alongside Sean Dyche at both Burnley and Everton, could reunite with him as part of his new backroom staff a move that would be popular among supporters.

‎There is growing acceptance within the club that Nottingham Forest are in a relegation battle.

‎They currently sit 18th in the Premier League with just five points from eight games, following a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in what proved to be Ange Postecoglou’s final match. Dyche, renowned for his ability to guide struggling teams to safety, faces an immediate challenge.
