Transfer: Liverpool Positive About Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Signing Despite All Odds
Liverpool has reportedly shown keen interest in getting the service of Georgia star player, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Sportxparte reports that Kvaratskhelia has been making waves in the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
The 23-year-old scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday night, scoring the first goal in a 2-0 victory over Portugal, which was a major upset.
Kvaratskhelia has previously mentioned he would wait until after the tournament to decide his future, but there are some speculations that he is unhappy and looking for a new team.
Conte Positive About Kvaratskhelia Stay At Napoli
However, both Antonio Conte and Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, are confident that there are no problems with keeping Kvaratskhelia on the team for the upcoming season.
Napoli manager, Antonio Conte, is reported to have dismissed concerns about his star player, Kvaratskhelia, leaving the Serie A team.
Conte, who has previously managed Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, took over at Napoli at the start of June but has since been managing much ‘crisis’ at Naples.
His two top scorers, Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen, are both rumoured to be looking to leave the team this summer.
Speaking via Football Italia, De Laurentiis began: “There are no problems with Kvara because we have a contract. We’ll make an offer for a new deal, so I see no problems for him. That being said, somebody can even offer contracts to the players without the club’s authorisation.”
On his part, Conte noted that he was confident the player responsible for 20 goal contributions last season should remain in Naples.
“Before talking about contractual and other aspects I wanted only one reassurance from the president, which is that I would decide who will stay and who will go,” he explained.
“I was very categorical.
“Because if we talk about revenge and rebuilding and then we let our best players go, then it’s all counterproductive. There are no doubts. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stays here and he will play for Napoli. There are no doubts, it’s all clear. Kvara will stay here with us.”
