West Ham United have confirmed the signing of winger Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.

West Ham United have signed EFL Championship Player of the Year Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.

The Dutchman arrives at the London Stadium as Julen Lopetegui’s fourth signing of the summer, after snapping up Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme, and Wes Foderingham.

Earlier in the summer, Liverpool and Chelsea were both linked with the 22-year-old, who scored 19 goals and racked up nine assists in the second tier last season as Leeds made the Championship play-off final under Daniel Farke but were beaten by Southampton

However, it’s West Ham who have won the race for his signature, striking a deal worth over £25m and tying the 22-year-old down to a five-year contract which also includes the option for a further 12 months.

“I’m very happy, and I can’t wait to get started,” Summerville told club media. “It’s the perfect next step for my career. West Ham United is a huge Club, with lots of ambition and great players, so I’m excited to be here and to get going.

“I always try to follow my heart, and I had the feeling that this is the best place for me to continue developing as a player, and to push my potential as much as possible.

“There is so much history here, and the team has done so well in the Premier League and Europe over recent years. I spoke to the Head Coach, and he convinced me that I could make an impact, and help achieve success in the new season.
