Al Hilal Offers Luka Modric €300 Million Contract Deal To Leave Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s Luka Modric is presently in Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup.
Modric played 67 minutes during the team’s semifinal matchup with Atletico Madrid, starting the game and dishing out two crucial passes while also earning an assist for his effort.
His stay in Saudi Arabia has been prolonged until the match against Barcelona on Sunday, as the club has advanced to the final. Paradoxically, though, he may very well be in his home right now.
Much like a fine wine, the 38-year-old Croatian legend continues to improve with age. From the middle of the park, he continues to put up powerful displays, suggesting that nothing about his age has hampered his game.
However, this summer might be his last with Real Madrid. His contract is about to expire, and it is likely that he will leave the team of his ambitions to develop his career, something Saudi Arabia can facilitate.
Al Hilal Offer To Modric
Al Hilal made the seasoned player an offer of a three-season contract worth €300 million last summer.
In addition, they provided a roster that is practically competitive on all fronts, with stars like Neymar, Rúben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Bono, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
But Modric turned off the chance to continue his legacy at Real Madrid. The Saudi Arabian powerhouses are set to return the following summer in an attempt to lure Modric away from the Merengues, as reported by AS today. It is unclear, though, if they will make a similar offer.
Luka Modric will not be leaving Real Madrid for a straight rival in Europe; that much is evident. Furthermore, from an economic perspective, it would make more sense for him to play in a second-tier league at this stage of his career.
Saudi Arabia is a viable choice in light of the enormous salaries that are offered to well-known figures. The Major League Soccer (MLS), where Inter Miami has long been interested in his talents, is another strong possibility.
Therefore, it remains to be seen if Modric chooses to move to Miami to join Lionel Messi and the core of Barcelona’s golden generation, or Neymar Jr. and company. He is currently concentrating on Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid project.
