While Arsenal‘s trajectory appears positive, there are still areas for improvement to challenge for the top spots in the Premier League

Sportxparte reports that the Gunners have refrained from making any big-money signings at the start of the transfer window, but supporters should not be concerned.

“We analyse our shortcomings, where we can improve, where we can invest, and from there, we go in search of this new name. What I am going to do now, we have been discussing since January. It is not my decision or Mikel’s. It’s from a whole group.”

It has been stated that the Spanish manager may have access to approximately £200m for transfers, with the possibility of increasing further if other players are sold. One of the top priorities on his list is to acquire another striker, hence the frequent mention of Viktor Gyokeres’ name.

The 26-year-old Swedish player has had an outstanding season, contributing significantly to Sporting Lisbon’s title win in Portugal by scoring 43 goals and providing 15 assists in all competitions since joining from Coventry less than a year ago.

Could he now make the leap to the top tier of Premier League football? Arsenal would have to trigger a rumoured release clause of about £85m to secure his services, and reports from Portugal indicate that a deal is nearing completion.

Arteta Keen On Strengthening Midfield

Arteta is also interested in bolstering the Gunners midfield by potentially acquiring German playmaker Joshua Kimmich. Kimmich, who is in the final year of his contract at Bayern Munich, has an impressive record of winning eight Bundesliga titles and a Champions League.

At 29 years old, Kimmich is expected to attract interest from several top European clubs if Munich decides to sell.

Arteta has previously mentioned his intention to make only minor adjustments and focus on maximizing the potential of the squad that narrowly missed out on beating City last season.

However, if academy graduates like Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson depart, along with the possibility of Aaron Ramsdale leaving, the boss may have more flexibility in terms of spending.
