Barcelona Identifies Harry Kane As Successor To Robert Lewandowski

‎Barcelona has identified Harry Kane as their top target to replace Robert Lewandowski next summer.

‎The club views the 32-year-old England captain as the ideal successor to the 37-year-old Pole, whose contract expires in June.

‎Reports suggest Barça are willing to activate the £57m release clause in Kane’s Bayern Munich deal to secure his signature.

‎Kane has been a huge success at Bayern since his £100m move from Tottenham in August 2023, scoring 108 goals in 113 appearances. In September, he became the fastest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

‎He ended his trophy drought in May, playing a key role as Bayern reclaimed the Bundesliga title.

‎Kane said last month he was open to staying at Bayern beyond the end of his current contract in June 2027.

‎However, the prospect of joining another of the world’s biggest clubs and challenging for further major honours could entice him to Barcelona, who already have an England international in Marcus Rashford on their books.

‎The forward is currently on loan from Manchester United, and Barcelona’s contract includes an option to buy him permanently for £30m.

‎Barcelona president Joan Laporta has ruled out Lionel Messi returning to the club. Messi visited Camp Nou this week, fueling speculation about a possible return from Inter Miami.

‎“Out of respect for Messi, our players, and our members, it’s not the time to speculate with unrealistic scenarios,” Laporta told Catalunya Radio.
