Chelsea Boss Mauricio Pochettino Hits Back At ‘Unfair’ Bottle Job Comment By Gary Neville
Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has hit back at Gary Neville over negative commentary.
Sportxparte reports that following a disappointing League Cup final defeat to Liverpool, where Chelsea’s performance was labelled as dull and uninspired, the team faced a barrage of negative commentary.
Gary Neville’s “blue billion-pound bottle jobs” painful comment highlights the significant investment made by the club’s new owners since 2022, without the desired results on the pitch.
However, Pochettino stood firm in the face of difficulties.
Refusing to accept the narrative of failure, he defended his players and’ the club’s ownership, emphasizing the need for time and’ patience in the rebuilding process.
Pochettino told reporters. “The problem is so annoying when after eight months, people always talk about one billion. I feel that’s a little bit unfair. The new owners arrived with the right intention and they want to build something different from the past.”
He added. “For me, the players have an amazing quality, they only need time. It’s not an excuse for me because if I am here or not, it’s not dependent on me. I think we are doing an amazing job.”
The Chelsea manager’s words show a sense of determination and’ optimism, despite Chelsea’s current struggles in the Premier League and’ their FA Cup fifth-round match against Leeds. Pochettino’s faith in the team’s potential, coupled with the support he feels from the ownership, offers a sign of hope amidst the problems.
Pochettino expressed “We cannot see maybe great results. But I think with time, we are going to have an amazing team. We are young, we are learning. People who have worked here for many years have started to feel in different ways about how the club is”.”But unfortunately, we cannot relate in points. Always this type of process needs time.”
