Como secured a return to Serie A on Friday, marking their first appearance in Italy’s top tier since 2003. This achievement came through a 1-1 draw at home against Cosenza, securing the second position in the Italian second division.

Parma, the champions of Serie B, have secured their promotion to the top flight for next season. They confirmed their promotion at the beginning of the month and will join Como in Serie A.

Following their relegation from Serie A over twenty years ago, Como experienced several bankruptcies that led to their decline down the football pyramid.

The Lombardy-based club has former Arsenal teammates Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry as minority shareholders, along with ex-Chelsea midfielder Dennis Wise serving as a board member.

After their promotion to Serie C in 2019, Como made a return to professional football. With financial backing from Indonesian tobacco giants Djarum, the club has swiftly progressed through the divisions.

The third club to be promoted will be determined through playoffs involving teams that finished between third and eighth place, with Venezia and Sampdoria among the contenders.
