EPL: Arteta Reaffirms Arsenal’s Stance Against European Super League

In marking his four-year tenure at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta staunchly reiterates the club’s unwavering opposition to the proposed European Super League, affirming a commitment to UEFA competitions and underscoring the importance of football’s allegiance to its supporters.

Amid recent revelations unveiling plans for a revamped European Super League following a ruling by the European Court of Justice, Arteta stands firm in his stance against the contentious breakaway league.

Notably, this proposed 64-team, three-league format faced immediate rejection from prominent clubs such as Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid, with Arsenal firmly aligning themselves against the divisive scheme.

Ahead of the Gunners’ pivotal clash against Liverpool in the Premier League summit at Anfield, Arteta reinforced Arsenal’s resolute position, stating, “We are crystal clear. We thrive on Champions League football and shall persist in doing so. Our strategy remains unaltered—football belongs to its fans.”
