La Liga Chief Slams Real Madrid: ‘They’re Against Everyone’
A Villarreal board member criticized Real Madrid this week, in reaction to how Los Blancos influenced the cancellation of Villarreal’s planned meeting with Barcelona in the United States.
Villarreal and Barcelona had been scheduled to make history with the match this December.
This came as the two clubs agreed to be the participants in the first-ever La Liga fixture played outside of Spain.
The match was initially set to be held in Miami, Florida, just before Christmas.
However, those plans were abruptly cancelled earlier this week. After protests from La Liga clubs, it was confirmed that the game will now take place at Villarreal’s home ground, La Cerámica.
And as alluded to above, evidently of the opinion that Real Madrid were the driving force behind the decision is Yellow Submarine CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles.
Speaking during an interview with Radio MARCA this week, Roig Negueroles took firm aim at Florentino Pérez and co, in explaining:
“Real Madrid acts as if they are against everyone. Two weeks ago, I was in Rome at the ECA meeting, and at the European level, Real Madrid is gradually losing influence because no one believes them anymore.
“At the Spanish level, especially in the media, you still give a lot of importance to what Real Madrid says.
“They are losing credibility because they object to everything, even good things, like this same match that they approved three or four years ago in a commission.
“Now they are changing their mind because they want to be against everyone. Their problem is that they complain about everything, even if something is in their favour, they will find a reason to object.”
