Liverpool Confirm Salah Return This Season After Injury Scare
Liverpool expects Mohamed Salah to feature again this season after scans showed his muscle injury is less serious than initially feared.
He was forced off during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace with what appeared to be a hamstring problem.
There were early concerns that the setback might prematurely end both his season and his Liverpool career. With the Egyptian set to depart at the end of the campaign.
Egypt fears and Liverpool’s Confirmation
Egypt’s national team director, Ibrahim Hassan, claimed Salah had suffered a hamstring tear that would require four weeks of recovery.
Such a timeline would have ruled him out for the remainder of the season and jeopardised his World Cup preparations.
However, Liverpool has now confirmed that the issue is only a minor muscle injury, easing fears over his availability.
”Liverpool FC can confirm Mohamed Salah is expected to be available to play again before the end of this season,” the club said in a statement.
”The issue that caused his withdrawal has now been confirmed as a minor muscle injury.
”It is, however, anticipated Salah will return to action ahead of 2025-26’s conclusion and his departure from the Reds this summer.”
Known as “The Egyptian King,” Salah sits third on Liverpool’s all-time scoring chart with 257 goals in 440 matches.
Liverpool, currently fourth in the Premier League with 58 points, will travel to face Manchester United on Sunday.
