Manchester City’s Reijnders Ready To Play Any Role Under Guardiola

‎Manchester City’s new signing, Tijjani Reijnders, has said he doesn’t mind where he plays under Pep Guardiola after midfielder Rodri picked up another injury setback.

‎The 27-year-old joined City from AC Milan for about £46.6 million earlier this summer to bolster their midfield options.

‎City endured their worst-ever season under Guardiola in 2024/25 as their remarkable loss in form coincided with Rodri’s ACL tear.

‎Rodri has since picked up another injury and isn’t expected to make his return until September at the earliest.

‎Speaking to reporters, Reijnders said, “In the Club World Cup, I played three roles in the midfield and I want to be a midfielder who can play in all of those roles. I want to play where the manager wants me to play, I will play and I will do my best, of course.”

‎”We’ve worked a lot on ball possession and what we can do against teams who are, for example, in a low block.

‎“Also, the reaction when we lose the ball, how quickly can we get it back. In the Club World Cup, we played some matches together, and now in training, we have gotten to know each other a little better.
