Martinelli, Ederson Withdrawn From Brazil Squad Due To Injuries
Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli and_ Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson have withdrawn from the Brazil squad for March’s international fixtures due to injuries.
Gabriel Martinelli, the 22-year-old Arsenal forward, sustained a foot injury during a match against Sheffield United, which subsequently ruled him out of Arsenal’s recent game against Brentford. Despite initial hopes of his availability for the Champions League fixture against Porto, Martinelli’s injury has proven to be more severe, leading to his withdrawal from the national squad.
On the other hand, Ederson, the Manchester City goalkeeper, suffered a thigh injury during the intense match against Liverpool, where he conceded a penalty and_ had to be substituted soon after. The injury is expected to keep Ederson out of action for up to four weeks, causing concern for both City and_ the Brazilian national team.
In addition to Martinelli and_ Ederson, Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has also been forced to withdraw from the squad due to an injury. This has led to the inclusion of new faces like Vasco da Gama goalkeeper Leo Jardim, Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno, and_ Porto striker Galeno in the national team setup.
Despite the setbacks, Tottenham forward Richarlison remains in the squad, showing determination to recover from his knee injury and_ contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming friendlies against England and_ Spain.
