The first half of Real Madrid’s La Liga clash with Osasuna was as chaotic as it comes, with Eder Militao stretchered off with a serious-looking knee injury and Rodrygo also in tears after being forced off.

Carlo Ancelotti faced significant pressure before the match following a rough couple of weeks, during which the team suffered heavy defeats to rivals Barcelona in El Clasico and Milan in the Champions League, both held at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Italian opted to change things up against Osasuna, drafting Rodrygo back into his starting lineup to form a front three alongside Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.

Rodrygo began the game strongly but was compelled to leave the field after just 20 minutes. The Brazilian was in tears as he made his way to the substitutes’ bench, where his left thigh was treated with ice.

Madrid is short in defense, with Dani Carvajal out for the season with a serious injury and David Alaba not yet fully recovered from his ACL tear.

Full-back Lucas Vázquez was also withdrawn at halftime after appearing to struggle with an injury late in the first half and was replaced by Luka Modric.
